Monthly Curriculum for Science and Social Studies:
August/Sept. Earth Science and learning the 50 states song and their geological location. Then we will be learning the state capitals. They need to pass off their 50 states by Sept. 11th Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uv5VhuUfwC4.
We will be watching the video about Sept. 11 and planning our Veteran's assembly for our Service-Learning Project.
October: We will be starting Chemical Reactions and fun fall lessons. We will finish up the State Regions and testing. They should know their 50 states song too. This can be recorded at home and emailed to me.
November and December: Chemical Reactions for Science and 13 colonies and Christmas around the world for Social Studies.
January and February: The American Revolutions to how the Declaration of Independence came about to our current Government for Social Studies. For Science, we are learning about plants and photosynthesis. We are writing reports on Black History moments and are presenting them in the classroom.
March: Planting Season. The students have broken into groups to plant different kinds of plants to watch it grow and hopefully succeed in harvesting their food. They are understanding how a food web is important. In Social Studies, we are learning about the Articles/Bill of Rights/Declaration of Independence and the 3 branches of government.
